I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and have seen a lot of changes. Some for the good, most for the bad. I thought it would be cool to have a site where people could post their memories of places, people, etc. of different things they remember used to be in Miami.
I worked at Allen's Drugs in 1968, the Allens we lovely people to work for and the customers were like family. I grew to know most of the customers and believe me they had the best lunch counter in town. I was back in Miami a few years ago was so happy to see Allen's alive and well.
Back in the 1950's I was allowed to ride my bike (about 10 blocks) to Allen's for a treat - cherry coke at the soda fountain - 10 cents! Miami was a safe place then - a great place to grow up - not so now. What a shame!

Man.. some memories there. My Dad used to take me there for breakfast on the mornings he did "special duty" directing traffic at Temple Zion.
